A day in class

Following my training on a new classroom tool, Clickers 7, which is the proven reading and writing educational tool that helps pupils of all abilities to achieve rapid and permanent gains in their literacy levels, today the children were able to interact and lead their learning through the interactive whiteboard, using this new software.
While previously our creative writing was carried out through discussion and the use of their scrapbk, today’s activity varied from interactivity, tablet use in class and scaffolded sentence writing on Clickers 7. This activity will be carried on tomorrow through handouts, specifically created for different individual learning styles and abilities.
I’m sure such tools enable all children to perform at their best abilities in a fun and interactive way.
Note : Clickers 7 is available for anyone who would like to download a 28 day trial period.

Creative Writing – Ants

Dear Parents,
Today’s creative writing for Monday is all about Ants. As you might have noticed, we planned our writing through a mind map, where we added additional information/vocabulary to be used within their written sentences.
Given that this is a creative writing task, children are expected to write detailed sentences, rather than one-word answers. At this stage, I will not accept short or not detailed sentences.

Children really enjoyed our discussion time in class and I’m sure that they will be able to create their own detailed sentences with ease.

For those children who were absent today, their work awaits them in class 🙂

Junior 2A – Creative Writing task

‘The Tooth Fairy’ is our next writing task. This is a much-loved topic by our little ones and they surely enjoyed our discussion in class about this topic.
It was all about the tooth fairy who visits us at night, crawling through the tiny key hole of our front door, fly all the way to our bedroom, leave some coins and fly back to Magic land which is situated right in the middle of a forest. There, one can find lots of fairies working in this magical factory, changing teeth to little tiny buttons, like the ones on our uniform…. 🙂 kids love this version of the tooth fairy….

Hereunder find a pdf copy of all the written work in class and children are encouraged to finish off this task by adding detail to their sentences.
